Soldier from Hawaii Thanks Legislators Via YouTube Video

November 6, 2013

An active duty soldier from Hawaii, who is currently stationed in Texas, wanted to say “mahalo” to the legislators who supported the marriage equality bill in his home state. Since he obviously couldn’t make it to testify, he created this great video instead.

In it, he thanks the members of the legislature as well as the governor for supporting marriage for all families. He mentions that he’s been stationed in Texas, Kansas, North Carolina, Iraq and Afghanistan, but that the islands will always be his home.

We hope that when Bryan’s service is done and he returns home, he’s coming back to a state where he can marry the person he loves.
