Rep. Nicole Lowen: “Marriage equality is coming”

August 20, 2013

Rep. Nicole Lowen is joining a growing number of her colleagues in the House and Senate in urging fellow lawmakers to act quickly and pass marriage equality.

In a quote released today, Rep. Lowen says that she believes Hawaii should take the lead by extending marriage to all loving and committed couples:

In the last week, numerous elected officials in Hawaii have spoken out for marriage equality, including Rep. Della Au Bellati, Rep. Cynthia Thielen, Senator Will Espero, and Honolulu City Councilmember Ikaika Anderson, and all four members of Hawaii’s Congressional delegation.

As members of the State Legislature and Governor Neil Abercrombie consider calling a special legislative session to vote on the freedom to marry, we applaud Rep. Lowen and her colleagues for standing on the right side of history!
