August 26, 2013

Honolulu Mayor Kirk Caldwell is joining community members, elected officials, and faith leaders from around the state in calling on Hawaii lawmakers to pass the freedom to marry without delay:

Mayor Caldwell is the latest prominent voice across Hawaii to urge state legislators to act now to extend marriage to gay and lesbian couples, including Honolulu City Councilmember Stanley ChangRep. Nicole LowenRep. Della Au BellatiRep. Cynthia ThielenSenator Will Espero, and Honolulu City Councilmember Ikaika Anderson, and all four members of Hawaii’s Congressional delegation.

As Governor Neil Abercrombie and legislators consider calling a special session in the coming days, we thank  Mayor Caldwell – a long-time supporter of marriage equality – for speaking out.
